Meet the WIDI Team: Jill North, Affiliate Brand Ambassador
At Wisconsin Destination Imagination (WIDI), our success is powered by the incredible people who dedicate their time, talents, and creativity to supporting students across the state. From coordinating tournaments to training Team Managers and ensuring that every team has the resources they need, our affiliate-level staff and volunteers are here to make sure our program participants have what they need to succeed.
We’re excited to introduce you to the passionate individuals who make it all possible—each one committed to inspiring curiosity, collaboration, and innovation in Wisconsin’s next generation of problem solvers.

How I got started in DI: I was first exposed to DI when one of my daughters was on a 2nd grade Early Learning Team. As a parent, we were asked to help at meetings. The following year, I became and Team Manager and continued that role for 17 years.
What I do for DI now: I currently have the role of Affiliate Brand Ambassador. The purple and orange presentation of DI at events and booths reflects my Fine Arts Team Manager experience and the WOW effect.

Why I continue to support the program: I continue to be involved and support DI because the skill set that DI teaches kids is so needed in today’s world. Creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving are necessary to become a productive and independent human being.
What I do in my professional life: I am retired from my career as an Occupational Therapist, having worked for over 40 years, specializing in hand therapy. I currently work part-time for my husband’s business, handling accounting and human resources.
What DI skills I use in everyday life: I feel my years as a Team Manager have sharpened my skills as a creative problem solver. It is all about what you can do with what you have to repair, fix, or accomplish a task with efficiency.
What I do for fun: I enjoy sailing, skiing, hiking, golfing, flower gardening, and card making. I am the artsy type. I have three adult daughters who are alumni of the DI program.
Thank you, Jill, for all you do to make WIDI look great!
