There will be four sectional tournaments:

  1. Northeast: Northeast, BayLake, and Green Bay regions (February 25, 2023 in Shawano) Registration is open>>
  2. Northwest: St. Croix and West Central regions (March 4, 2023 in Hudson) Registration is open>>
  3. Southeast: Milwaukee and South Central (March 11, 2023 in Muskego) Registration is open>>
  4. East Central: Winnebago, Kettle Moraine, and Blackhawk (March 18, 2023 in Germantown) Registration is open>>

Sectional tournament registration is due January 15, 2023 to avoid a late fee. Sectional tournament registration closes January 31, 2023 at 11:59PM CT.

Teams will compete against ALL the other teams (in their Challenge & level) at their Sectional Tournament.   WIDI wants as many teams as possible to go to Green Bay, so the rules for advancement to the Affiliate Tournament will be determined based on the overall number of teams. The Aristotle Award may also be used to provide more opportunities for teams to advance. A lot will depend on how many Wisconsin teams there are this year.

Please know that all the Regions as they exist now will stay intact, with the same boundaries  so if things allow we can go back to having our own Regional tournaments.

Teams can still request transfers to another sectional tournament if they have school-related conflicts.

The WIDI BOD sees this change as a temporary fix as we rebuild the program from the pandemic losses. As team numbers increase, WIDI hopes to go back to individual Regional tournaments.

Stay tuned for more information.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact your Regional Director.
